Coffee Cart Delivers More Than Drinks
Students in the upper grade levels at Terrace Elementary School have started a coffee cart that runs every Friday morning.
Teachers place their drink order and students in Ms. Morgan Richardson and Ms. Emma Trais's class make and deliver the coffee or hot chocolate to them.
Ms. Richardson said having a classroom coffee cart helps the students work on important skills that will be beneficial for them when they go into the world of work in the future.
The cart also helps them work on strengthening their communication skills and life skills.
The team of students work together, with some taking the orders and communicating the orders to the baristas, some collecting and counting money, some creating artwork for the cups, and other delivering the drinks to the teachers, making sure they receive the perfect number of creamers and sugars.
Ms. Richardson said, "The class works together as a team, applying our skills, running the coffee cart, fulfilling orders, handling money, communicating with others and more."
