Irish Dance, Free Dance, Freeze!

A group of young people, both male and female, are gathered in a gymnasium-like setting, engaged in what appears to be a physical activity or exercise.
Terrace

Terrace Elementary School students in Dance Club have the opportunity to learn different dances after school every Thursday.

The students in the club, under the direction of Ms. Emma Trais, recently learned how to perform an Irish Dance.

Guest visitor Ms. Ochoa showed the students how to position their arms and hands while performing the dance.

She then showed them how to jump from one stance to another, pointing each leg out, and ending with pointing their left toe in front of them.

After practicing their Irish Dance moves, they had time for "free dance."

Ms. Trais brought out colorful streamers and they had fun dancing together and practicing different moves.

One of the students incorporated the splits into her dance!

After "free dance" the students performed a "freeze dance," in which Ms. Trais played music and every 10 to 15 seconds the music would stop and the students froze in their current dance move.

The more difficult the move was they were trying to hold, the more fun they had!
