Courageous Cardinal Celebration

Courageous Cardinal Celebration
Terrace

All Terrace Elementary School students took part in the Courageous Cardinal PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports) celebration at the end of January.

The assembly celebrated students who had been nominated by their teachers for demonstrating respect, responsibility and safety on a consistent basis.

The assembly was designed to be more inclusive for the students with sensory needs.

The lights in the gym were dimmed, and rather than students clapping and cheering, they had glow sticks that they waved instead.

Each student honored had the opportunity to walk to down a red carpet that was rolled out in the middle of the gym.

They received a certificate and their teachers said a few words about why they were deserving of the award.

After the students were celebrated, two classes received the "golden broom" award, chosen by Terrace Head Custodian Mr. Chris Santis, for having the cleanest classrooms.

Principal Dr. Brad Stein said, "I am extremely proud of our students who did a tremendous job recognizing their peers, and I look forward to next month's celebration where we will acknowledge our students who are demonstrating consistent expectations during recess."
