"Eye of the Tiger" - On a Recorder?

"Eye of the Tiger" - On a Recorder?
Terrace

Terrace Elementary School fourth graders in Ms. Prost's music class had fun playing familiar songs and also learning new songs on their recorders.

The class started by practicing the song "Hot Cross Buns," with Ms. Prost playing a part and then the students playing after her.

They then played through the full song while following along to a recorded version.

Ms. Prost taught the fourth graders special mouthing techniques they could use when playing the recorder.

After learning the fingering and mouthing techniques for the notes "B," "BAB" and "BAG," they were ready for a challenge.

The class attempted the 80's classic "Eye of the Tiger" by the band Survivor and featured in the movie "Rocky III."

They played the instrumental parts of the song on their recorders and then during the vocal parts of the song they all stopped playing and started singing together.

They class had fun learning the new song and playing and singing through it a few times.
