Super Silly Story Time with Bob Shea!

Super Silly Story Time with Bob Shea!
Terrace

Beloved author and cookie enthusiast Bob Shea visited students virtually at Terrace this week.

Bob is the author and illustrator of over 20 picture books.

Titles include, Chez Bob, Who Wet My Pants, Unicorn Thinks He's Pretty Great, the popular Dinosaur vs....series, The Ballet Cat early reader series and the cult favorite Big Plans, illustrated by Lane Smith.

The students were very excited to meet Bob Shea and loved hearing him read his book Chez Bob.

Before he started reading Bob asked the students if they had written stories themselves and draw pictures. All of the students responded with a big Yes. He told them that they were all authors and illustrators which excited the students.

He also showed them his first drawings for his book which were very rough sketches.

Students in Mrs. Schaefer's and Mrs. O'Brien's rooms made Bob Shea hats with different characters of his on them. They had a great time showing him their custom made hats.

After reading his book Bob had the students participate with him in an drawing activity. Bob showed the students how to draw his own characters using simple shapes and had them follow along with him.

He also answered many of the students questions and had a good time engaging with them.

Bob's overall message was that if you like writing stories and drawing you can be an author and or illustrator as well. If you have already written a story then you are author. If you like to draw then you are an illustrator.

It was a great event that all of the students at Terrace got to enjoy.
